Services
Stahl Sheaffer has a 5,000 sf full service soils and materials lab in Washington County. We specialize in Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) and Cold-in-Place Recycled (CIR) asphalt designs to support roadway construction. Stahl Sheaffer's services include subgrade testing, embankment stabilization testing, and roadway coring - allowing us to recommend effective FDR and CIR mix designs and provide quality control monitoring during construction to ensure efficient soil stabilization. Stahl Sheaffer also offers moisture density testing for subgrade and pavement testing, and triaxial shear testing equipment to perform consolidated undrained (CU), consolidated drained (CD), and unconsolidated undrained (UU) testing for foundation design, slope stability analysis, and settlement analysis.
Stahl Sheaffer creates customized reports containing all of the data to reliably plan and execute roadway and pavement projects, complete with details about the tests, maps, photos, lab results, and specific recommendations based on those results.

AASHTO Accredited Soils & Materials Lab
Stahl Sheaffer’s Soils and Materials Lab in Washington County, PA is an AASHTO Accredited Testing and Inspection Agency. AASHTO is the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials. On June 29th, 2016, Stahl Sheaffer received accreditation from the AASHTO Accreditation Program (AAP, formally recognizing the competence of the company to perform specific tests on construction materials to meet specific national and international standards. The 5,000-sf full-service lab specializes in Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) and Cold-in-Place Recycled (CIR) asphalt designs to support roadway construction. The AASHTO accreditation will enable Stahl Sheaffer to meet client requirements for testing standards and will continue to boost new customer’s confidence in the services provided by Stahl Sheaffer.
