Beaver Avenue Streetscape Project

SERVICES
Stahl Sheaffer provided design and inspection services for the Borough of State College to improve sidewalk and pedestrian safety on Beaver Avenue between Burrows Street and Allen Street in 2009 and 2010. This was a federally-funded Transportation Enhancement project which involved the design of pedestrian amenities and street lighting. A concrete pedestrian node at the corner of South Fraser Street and textured crosswalks were both used to improve safety for pedestrians crossing the street. Thirty-five decorative streetlamps were also installed to enhance the lighting and aesthetics of the sidewalk along Beaver Avenue. Stahl Sheaffer was also selected to provide full time construction inspection and documentation services for this project.
