Redifer Commons Mechanical Upgrades

Stahl Sheaffer Engineering provided survey, site design, and structural engineering services to develop plans and specifications as part of an MEP renovation for Penn State’s Redifer Commons. Structural work included the assessment of the existing mechanical catwalks to ensure that demolishing portions would not compromise the overall structure design of new stair access points, detailing for new guardrail based on revised catwalk extent, and a new entry ramp to accommodate the exterior grade to floor elevation change. Stahl Sheaffer also evaluated and provided design alternatives for the existing floor drain in order to meet current DEP sanitary sewer regulations.
