Photovoltaic System
The Pennsylvania State University, College Township, PA
Stahl Sheaffer provided the site analysis, topographic survey, site design, and site permitting for the installation of a two-megawatt photovoltaic system located on a steep slope in an undeveloped area. The project was a public-private partnership and required oversight and management between stakeholders to ensure a mutually successful outcome. Stahl Sheaffer navigated the zoning approval process with College Township, which was the first ground-mounted solar project to be approved under the Township’s recently adopted Solar Energy Ordinance.
Stahl Sheaffer also worked closely with the Township to develop a post-construction stormwater management plan that addressed the unique developed conditions of the site, in which the site was partially covered by raised solar panels, but the ground beneath remained in a meadow condition.
