Hetzel Union Building (HUB) Parking Deck Structural Design

The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA

​​Stahl Sheaffer Engineering provided design services for the 2016 maintenance contract at the Penn State HUB Parking Deck. Stahl Sheaffer prepared the plans and specifications based upon the inspection results, and provided bidding and contract administration service.​

​Following the Visual Inspection of the Parking Deck & Evaluation of the Condition of All Parking Levels, Recommendations Included: 

• Full Scale Traffic Coating Surface Protection
• Replacement of Electrical Junction Boxes and Conduits
• Replacement of Existing Lighted Exit Signs
• Removal of Existing Vinyl Traffic Arrows with Shotblast Procedure & Replacement with New Vinyl Directional Arrows
• Cleaning and Painting Basement Level Walls
• Replacement of Expansion Joint at the Interface with Bookstore
• Removal of All Old Meter Mounts & Repair of Mounting Surface
• Replacement of Overhead Clearance Bar at Both Entrances with a Bar to be Hung from the Concrete Above
• Replacement of Rooftop Enclosures ​
