Porter Road Construction Inspection

 Stahl Sheaffer Engineering provided construction inspection services for Penn State's Porter Road Improvement project.  The University successfully applied for federal Transportation Enhancement (TE) funds to improve Porter Road between College Avenue and Park Avenue.  This roadway is a major collector of traffic for Beaver Stadium, Medlar Field, and the Bryce Jordan Center during special events, and is also heavily utilized for commuter traffic during normal periods.  Major activities included drainage pipe, inlets, concrete curb, a concrete box utility chase, traffic signal improvements, concrete curb, and bituminous paving.  Stahl Sheaffer provided full time inspection to monitor and document that all activities were completed in accordance with the contract plans and specifications.  Stahl Sheaffer worked closely with the Office of  Physical Plant and PennDOT to provide the construction documentation required for TE funding.
