Mobile LiDAR Technician II

Stahl Sheaffer Engineering is currently seeking to hire a Mobile LiDAR Technician II for our team at either our Morgantown, WV, Charleston, WV or Southpointe, PA office.  

The successful candidate for the Mobile LiDAR Technician II position will need to have work experience in surveying, LiDAR collection/processing (static or mobile), GIS, computer aided drafting, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong technical background in LiDAR data collection/processing, surveying, GIS data collection/processing, AutoCAD or MicroStation. Experience in the transportation or oil & gas industry is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Traveling (driving Mobile LiDAR vehicle) throughout Eastern United States
• Troubleshooting equipment
• Post processing (registration) of the LiDAR data
• Conducting LiDAR data compilation and analysis
• Classification of LiDAR point clouds
• Performing GPS Post-Processing
• Extraction of mapping features from LiDAR point clouds
• Importing geospatial data into AutoCAD, TopoDOT and/or Microstation.
• Processing and data input from a variety of sources, both spatial and non-spatial

Requirements:

• Effective oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to complete projects independently and/or in small teams in a responsible and timely manner  
• ​The ability to obtain state / federal background clearances to permit working on-site for clients
• OSHA 10, Safeland USA and CPR/First Aid or ability and willingness to acquire it
• A valid Driver’s License and daily access to a motor vehicle for possible regional travel
