Laser Scanning for Building Conversion
Boas Street, Harrisburg, PA
Stahl Sheaffer was selected to provide laser scanning to convert a former church into a multi-family residential dwelling in Harrisburg, PA. As a subconsultant to a local architect, Stahl Sheaffer is using a FARO Focus 330X HDR phase-based laser scanner to acquire high-resolution 3D point cloud and 360-degree imagery of the interior and exterior of the existing 7,658-SF historic building at 260 Boas Street in Harrisburg, PA. Interior scanning includes all three levels, including all rooms, closets, and hallways. Exterior scanning encompasses as much of the exterior of the building as possible including windows, doors, and protrusions. Stahl Sheaffer is processing and registering the scans into a single high-resolution colorized point cloud to document the interior and exterior of the building, which will be used for 3D modeling and plan generation.
