I-81 Wilkes-Barre 3D Mobile LiDAR
Dimension Measurements & Realignment, Luzerne County, PA
Stahl Sheaffer performed 3D mobile LiDAR scanning and acquired survey grade high-resolution point cloud data tied to survey control for the analysis and realignment of 15 miles of I-81 in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County. Stahl Sheaffer drove 15 miles for four separate passes totaling 60 miles to precisely capture the LiDAR data required for the lane analysis. From this data certain features were extracted that include, but are not limited to: edge of asphalt, paint lines, and concrete separations at the beginning of the project. Spot elevations were extrapolated every 100 feet in high detailed areas near bridges. Elevations were also extracted every ten feet on bridge decks and bridge runoffs along the mainline of the interstate. Stahl Sheaffer also provided survey plan views for the mainline of the interstate in both north and south directions as well as the required ramp areas.
