Stahl Sheaffer Provides Campus Asset Management Services
Stahl Sheaffer has adapted extensive experience in GIS, condition assessments, and LiDAR scanning to provide seamless asset management systems for campus infrastructure. We assess the condition of pavements/driving surfaces, curbs, drainage ditches, intersection sight distances, and ADA/sidewalks ramps to rate the overall condition of roadway corridors. We combine condition ratings with other custom prioritization factors – roadway class, anticipated traffic, bus usage, visibility, cost, and time sensitivity/ critical condition rating – to determine network priority for conducting routine, minor, and major maintenance. Inputs can be customized to function with asset management programs such as Maximo and Cartegraph Operations Management System. This approach can also be applied to sidewalks, ramps, and crosswalks for pedestrian safety analysis and improvements. Stahl Sheaffer can also create a customized asset management tool that can be easily maintained by the user. Collection of point cloud data along with 360-degree imagery allows inspectors to conduct their reviews in a controlled office setting, which promotes consistency, facilitates QA/QC of inspection data, and allows GIS feature creation to be customized to fit the functionality of the asset management tools.
For building facilities, Stahl Sheaffer, with the assistance of our mechanical, electrical, and fire protection teaming partners, conducts top to bottom evaluations to identify deficiencies and determine remaining service life for all components. This information is entered into an interactive asset management tool to be used for tracking, planning, and estimating the repair of the identified deficiencies, with options for comparing immediate and deferred maintenance strategies. Stahl Sheaffer can customize the asset management tool for each project. This comprehensive information can be incorporated into a master plan for building maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
