3D Scan for Industrial Facility Conversion
Mixed Use Historic Complex, Frederick, MD
Stahl Sheaffer provided 3D laser scanning for a former Industrial facility that was converted (via adaptive reuse design) into a 141,300 SF mixed-use commercial office, residential, and retail redevelopment. Cannon Hill, originally the Farmer’s Cooperative, is a 2.1-acre historic complex comprised of four original mixed-use warehouse and office buildings in downtown Frederick, MD. The existing buildings have been renovated and three new building structures were added to create the mixed-use redevelopment in a Qualified Opportunity Zone property.
Stahl Sheaffer acquired high-resolution 3D point cloud and 360-degree imagery of the existing buildings. This scanning encompassed all levels/floors and included all rooms, closets, hallways, and other accessible areas and captured enough detail to be used for the creation of 3D modeling. Scanning was performed using a FARO Focus 330X HDR phase-based laser scanner on a high-resolution setting. The actual LiDAR scans of the complex are pictured below.
