Stahl Sheaffer is providing structural engineering and construction administration services as a subconsultant to an architectural firm for a new two-story, 36,400-SF building, housing the South Fayette Township Police Department on the lower level and the Township Administration on the upper level. Structural steel framing was used to create the cantilevered roof conditions throughout the building. A concrete composite slab system was used for the floor to limit depth of steel floor framing, especially in areas with high density storage on the upper level. Concrete retaining walls were used along the north, west, and south walls to create the partial basement condition required to accommodate the building’s two separate entrance levels.
