Stahl Sheaffer Engineering, Inc. (Stahl Sheaffer) is a 100% employee-owned civil and structural engineering firm operating from nine locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. Services include building agriculture services, building structural design, bridge design and inspection, construction inspection, geotechnical engineering, site design and land development, safety services, survey and reality capture, and transportation engineering. We provide these services to public and private clients in multiple industries, including transportation, higher education, parks and recreation, municipal services, hospitality, farming, residential, and senior living.

Jeff Sheaffer, P.E. and Rod Stahl, P.E., co-Presidents and both with 36 years of experience, along with Mike Marso, a Senior Vice President with 45 years of experience, comprise the Stahl Sheaffer Executive Management team and serve on the Board of Directors. In addition, we have two Independent Directors, Cheryl Moon, P.E., and Tim Finnerty.

Jeff Sheaffer, P.E.
President

Jeff has 35 years of experience in design, inspection, and management in the engineering industry. He co-founded the firm in 2006 and is now a President serving on the executive leadership team.

Rod Stahl, P.E.
President

Rod has 35 years of experience in design, inspection, and management in the engineering industry. He co-founded the firm in 2006 and is now a President serving on the executive leadership team.

Michael Marso
Sr. Vice President

Mike has 44 years of experience in construction management and leadership in the engineering industry. He has been with the firm since 2010 and is a Senior Vice President serving on the executive leadership team.

Cheryl Moon, P.E.
Chief Engineer

Cheryl is currently the Chief Engineer at Lindy Paving. She has 38 years of experience, most notably as PennDOT Executive Deputy Secretary and District Executive for PennDOT District 11.

Tim Finnerty

Tim is an attorney and certified public accountant with McNees Wallace & Nurick, LLC who specializes in federal tax law, corporate law, estate planning, and mergers and acquisitions.

2025 recipient of the ASHE SW Penn Category A Projects ($5,000,000).
Stahl Sheaffer provided planning, design, and geotechnical services for the redesign and realignment of the intersection at the junction of 286 & 380 (Golden Mile Highway & Saltsburg Road) in Murrysville, PA, a complicated intersection with unique geometry. Stahl Sheaffer designed a “Continuous Green T (CGT) Intersection” whereby the major direction of traffic traveling straight through the intersection flows continuously without stopping, while other movements are managed by a traffic signal and channelized lanes.

2023 recipient of the "Great Design" award by the PA Wilds Center! This award honors an individual, business or organization that has done outstanding work to preserve, protect or enhance an area’s rural community character and to promote the use and understanding of the PA Wilds Design Guide.
Stahl Sheaffer provided civil engineering services as part of the design team on the development of a mixed-use building. The two-story facility, with 5,000 SF on each floor, was designed for multiple tenants and features a driveway connection to Market Street, pedestrian access to the River Walk, and on-site parking facilities. Stahl Sheaffer provided the necessary engineering design to complete site improvement plans and obtain associated permits and approvals.
