Transportation Project Engineer
Responsibilities
Work as part of a team and also independently in evaluating and applying transportation engineering principles, standards, and criteria
Utilize various transportation design software/tools
Assist with proposal development
May interact directly with clients at project meetings and ensure that all client project designs meet and exceed engineering standards
Provide support to roadway and municipal project managers on aspects of transportation engineering
May build and maintain relationships with key transportation engineering clients
Prepare technical reports and papers for clients and/or internal distribution
Represent Stahl Sheaffer at conferences and professional societies
Mentor junior engineers
Requirements
Bachelor’s or master's degree in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Pennsylvania and/or West Virginia
A valid driver’s license and daily access to a motor vehicle
The ability to obtain state and federal background clearances to permit working on-site when necessary
Minimum four years of experience with transportation and/or traffic engineering projects relating to the public and private sectors
Experience in PennDOT, WVDOT, ODOT, PA Turnpike, and/or Ohio Turnpike projects preferred
Proficient working knowledge of Microstation, Open Roads, and Autoturn
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong organizational skills
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication with co-workers, clients, and the general public
