Construction Inspector
Responsibilities
Perform construction inspection and documentation services on large utility, paving, bridge, and highway projects
Requirements
A High School diploma (or equivalent)
ACI Technician Certification; PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification; NECEPT Field Technician Certification; Certified; NICET Certification in Heavy Highway Construction; and Troxler Nuclear Gauge Certification
A valid driver’s license and daily access to a motor vehicle
The ability to obtain state and federal background clearances and pass pre-employment drug screening to permit working on-site
Prior experience working as a Transportation Construction Inspector, Supervisor, or Manager
Prior experience on Pennsylvania Turnpike, DOT highway, and/or bridge projects
Basic math skills and the ability to understand construction plans, specifications, and procedures
Prior experience with documenting daily construction activities which includes the measurement and calculation of pay quantities
Proficiency in recording all details of multiple construction operations and applying this information to a daily inspector report
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication with co-workers, clients, and the general public
