Building Structures Project Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Team in the development and design of building structural projects which consist of the plans, specifications, and estimates

  • Develop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters

  • Review design details and coordinate technical recommendations

  • Assess the cost‐effective constructability of the project and generally evaluate the quality of the project

  • Provide day‐to‐day technical support, guidance, and input

  • Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, studies, permits, and designs for various projects

  • Instruct CADD technicians to reduce designs to working drawings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree - Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis)

  • Licensed Professional Engineer

  • At least six years of experience in building structures

  • The ability to obtain state and federal background clearances to permit working on-site when necessary

  • A valid driver’s license and daily access to a motor vehicle

  • Experience with modeling and drafting using Revit

  • Experience with structural design software packages using RAM/Elements and TEDD

  • Experience with field inspections, design, and production of construction drawings, preparation of specifications, and construction administration

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication with co-workers, clients, and the general public
