Bridge/Tunnel Project Engineer
Responsibilities
Author bridge studies and inspection reports
Perform bridge analyses, design calculations and field inspections of bridges
Interpret scope-of-work documents and plan staffing, effort, and resource needs
Lead bridge designers and junior engineers in their performance of tasks and assignments
Review bridge plan submittals for quality standards
Provide license seal for final construction plans and bid documents
Monitor and report the status, progress, and costs of assigned projects
Requirements
B.S. in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
Licensed Professional Engineer
>5 years of experience designing bridge projects and/or leading bridge inspection contracts
The ability to obtain state and federal background clearances to permit working onsite when necessary
A valid driver’s license and daily access to a motor vehicle
Progressive experience in bridge project management, bridge structure design, bridge structure plan
Structure type studies and design development in accordance with the staged review process for state and local public agency (LPA) sponsored projects
LPA funding programs and applications for bridge projects
AASHTO LRFD & Standard Bridge Specifications & AASHTO Manuals for Bridge Evaluation & Element Inspection; Agency Bridge Design & Inspection Manuals
MERLIN-DASH, MDX, and/or Bentley LEAP System and AASHTOWare Br/D programs; BAR7 and/or AASHTOWare Br/R programs; HY-8 and HEC-RAS software packages
MicroStation, GeoPAK and related CAD or highway design software
CBSI experience/certification
Experience with project management software, applications and scheduling tools
Experience with bridge hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses a plus
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication with co-workers, clients, and the general public
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
