The award was presented at the NFF/CHOF's 22nd annual scholar-athlete awards dinner on March 17, 2019 at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College, PA.
Stahl Sheaffer sponsored a $1,000 scholarship, which was awarded to Philip Davis of Milton Area High School. Philip was selected to receive the award based on three criteria: (1) academics (40%), (2) football ability/performance/attitude (40%), and (3) leadership and citizenship (20%).
Over 400 attendees gathered at the Penn Stater on March 17 to recognize the achievements of 52 high school and nine college football players from their performances during the past season. Since initiating the awards banquet in 1998, the Central Pennsylvania Chapter has awarded a total of $248,000 in scholarships while honoring 755 scholar-athletes from high schools located in its 25-county coverage area.
