LiDAR Project Manager

Stahl Sheaffer Engineering is currently seeking to hire a LiDAR Project Manager for our team at  our Morgantown, WV office.  

The ideal candidate for the Reality Capture Manager/LiDAR Project Manager position will need to have a strong background in Mobile LiDAR collection/processing, as well as Terrestrial Scanning and surveying.  Experience in the O&G industry is a plus. Effective oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to complete projects independently and/or in small teams in a responsible and timely manner are required. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Creating project work plans and staffing requirements for the group
  • Assist the Director of Survey and other Project Managers in preparing project scope and budget
  • ​Post processing (registration) of the LiDAR data (Mobile and Terrestrial)
  • ​Conduct LiDAR data compilation and analysis
  • Classification of LiDAR point clouds
  • Perform GPS Post-Processing
  • Extraction of mapping features from LiDAR point clouds and generate CAD mapping for internal and external clients
  • ​Importing geospatial data into AutoCAD, TopoDOT, and/or MicroStation
  • Process and input data from multiple sources
  • ​Collaborate with team to identify and apply new technologies within the company
  • A valid Driver's License and daily access to a motor vehicle for possible regional travel

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Survey, Geomatics, or a related degree
  • At least four years of progressive experience in survey and mapping
  • A minimum of two years of progressive office experience in 3D Scanning, laser scan capture, post processing, analysis, and modeling
  • ​Comprehensive knowledge of laser scanning fundamentals, surveying principles, laser scan, and surveying equipment and its operations
  • ​Excellent computer and technical skills, including point cloud registration, Scene, ReCap, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or Micro Station, and MS Office Suite. Realworks and Revit are a plus.
  • ​Experience with Faro laser scan equipment and software is a plus
  • ​Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated, must be able to work well collaboratively or independently
  • Proven work history, strong work ethic and team-player attitude
  • Self-starter, and able to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience with contracts, negotiations, budgets, and estimating.
  • Leadership skills to manage and support staff for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude.
  • Must be able to work effectively with other technical professionals.
  • Ability to write legibly and convey technical information as well as the ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from groups of co-workers, clients and the general public is required.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and written are essential
  • Must possess a valid drivers’ license in good standing
  • The ability to obtain background clearances to permit working on-site for certain clients
