Knox to Kane Rail Trail Road Crossing Safety Evaluation

Headwaters Charitable Trust, Clarion & McKean Counties, PA

Stahl Sheaffer Engineering is coordinating with Headwaters Charitable Trust for safety evaluation, grant assistance, design, and PennDOT coordination where the rail trail crosses state roadways at more than 30 locations in PennDOT Districts 2-0 and 10-0. Stahl Sheaffer has developed crossing plans incorporating safety improvements at each intersection. Stahl Sheaffer is also leading coordination with each PennDOT District to establish a Shared Use Trail Agreement between Headwaters Charitable Trust and PennDOT.

To date, Stahl Sheaffer has assisted Headwaters Charitable Trust on receiving funding for 18 of the sites. Efforts are currently underway for funding of the remaining crossings.
